Tried & Tested: Etude House AC Clean Up Liquid Patch

I'm a huge Fan of Etude House AC clinic Pink Powder Spot. Last year Etude House change the line to AC Clean Up, and there is one product that catch my attention.  'Liquid Patch' As I open the page, as usual I will look through the picture demonstrate how to use this product. I was instantly amazed! It creates a thin film layer to protect you acne scar, then you could put on your makeup like nothing happen underneath. Sound impressive right? This product is too good to be true. So does it work?

The product has a mild smell of tea tree. It has rubbery flat tip applicator. I follow the instruction in the back of packaging. First I make sure my skin is clean, then I applied the product on my pimple and let it dry. It is recommended that you used three layer of product. When it dries it still have shiny finish. And, I don't need to add concealer/foundation because it has peeled as soon as it dries. It lack of adhesivity to help the product stay still on your skin.

This product has an innovative idea, sadly it was not properly developed. Hopefully the would improve the adhesivity so it would be perfect.

#BeautyReview : Kiehl's Clantro & Orange Extract Pollutant DefendingMask

Last year, Kiehl's launched 2 new masks: Cilantro & Orange Extract Pollutant Defending Mask and Tumeric and Cranberry seed Energizing Radiance mask. At first I wanted to try the Turmeric mask, because turmeric is one of in trend beauty ingredient that helps to clear acne, plus I'm pretty sure that this mask won't stain your skin like raw turmeric does. Plus it is a kaolin based mask, so I guess it would suit my skin type better. 

But then when I went to the counter to get it. I also tried the cilantro & orange extract mask, and I love how it felt when applied, and when I wash it off it reveal a smooth and plump skin. While deciding, I turn around the packaing and read a wonderful notice " SUNBURN ALERT: This product contains an Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) That may increase your skin sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility sunburn. Use sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for weeks after that.". Well I just read the rest when I type this. I actually stopped when it says that the mask contain AHA. I been suggested by my dear friend to tried AHA to deal with bumps and uneven texture around my mouth, nose, forehead, and under the eyes. 

This mask is a lot smaller that regular Kiehl's mask, it is 75 ml (2.5 fl. oz), and more expensive, the mask cost 480 000 IDR. It is packaged in glass container with plastic cap. When I open, the smell quite interesting, it has sweet minty floral smell, I imagine that it would smell like salsa since it is cilantro. I could hardly smell any cilantro. If you couldn't understand my explanation, this mask smell like tiger balm... Seriously...

So the sales person told me that I 'could ' use this as sleeping mask. So when I first tried it I use it like any wash off mask, I left it for 15 minutes and rinse it.. Aside for the smell and the sweet taste. I don't find that this mask do anything to me. So I wen't online and go to Kiehl's website. Sooo you use the mask as a leave on sleep mask. That's not an option. So at the second tried, I use the mask as instructed by the website. I use my toner, serum and face oil. Then, I brush the mask not to thin but not to thick, I leave it for 15 minutes and wipe the excess with tissue (I highly recommend high grade facial tissue for this step, don't use random facial tissue). your want to leave a thin layer, so it's okay if you still feel that there are some products left on your face.I watched some snaps and sleep until the sun shine.

When I wake up in the morning , I noticed that my skin feel super soft and moist and the rough bumpy area feels smoother. I've tried to use it for 3 weeks and I see a visible difference, especially my forehead become smoother, I've tried many product, but they do not do anything to my forehead. As for other parts I notice that this mask also help the Rare Earth Pore Cleansing Mask to maintain clean pore. So pores around my nose are much smaller now.

Mini Review: AHAVA Time To Treat Comforting Cream

My cousin have been a big fan of Ahava since her friend bought it for her. Just like me, her skin is also sensitive, so she always tell me to try Ahava. So she handed me some sample. At First, I tried 'Time to Clean Purifying Mask'. TBH, I'm not impressed at all, the sting sensation were close to itch so I don't like the product at all. And last month, I pack as less as possible, soI packed my moisturizer into a Deluxe Sample Jar(approx. 7 ml). I tried to stuff as many product as I can, but in the end I don't have enough left until I could go back. I completely ran out of my moisturizer, So I did not moisturize my skin for a day, and it already dry, itchy, broke out, and rough. I was so desperate. But then I remember, I still have the moisturizer sample that I sneak in my toiletries bag. So I clean my face, and quickly slammed it all over my face. I do not expect that I would love this product. My skin has been severely dry and itchy all over my face. But this cream quickly calm my skin , moisturize and not sticky. I really like this product that I decided to purchase the full size. I would recommend this for dry and oily skin.

REVIEW & DEMO : Etude House 'Tint My Brow Gel'

Just imagine, you wake up in the morning and look at the mirror you wake up with your eyebrow all on fleek. Yes we all want it (maybe for those who naturally have no brow like me think so). Review: IOPE Enzyme Powder Wash

You know that I'm a little bit obsess with enzyme facial wash. My sister once brought me and introduce me to a enzyme facial, and then she shared Kanebo Suisai Beauty Clear Powder. Ever since Enzyme cleansing is an answer to my stubborn clogged pore problem. The problem is how amazing this treatment is I guess it's only popular in Japan. It's easy to find many Japanese brand that sold this type of cleansing solution. I've been wandering, Is there any Korean version exist? Actually it is exist, I found IOPE Enzyme Powder Wash.

REVIEW & DEMO: MAKEUP FOREVER Step 1 Skin Equalizer (Smoothing Primer)

I'm not a big fan of primer. the only primer that I bought is Smashbox photo primer. I would say it does give the skin the smooth feel. But I doesn't like the feel on my skin. I felt it quite heavy and seems like I have fuzzy skin. Since I have a Huge size of pore. I don't find that the primer refine my pore. Especially I notice that it make my skin bumpy. far from the perfect skin. I've tried many primer that address to pore problem they all have the heavy and fuzzy feel.

So Early this year Makeup Forever launch a new series of primer. They called Step 1 Skin Equalizer, just like the previous primer, it has different formula that treat specific problems like dryness, oily skin, skin discoloration, fine lines etc. This line replace the old makeup forever primer. I got one my self early this year, after use it couple time I could conclude my opinion toward this primer.

REVIEW: Etude House Conditioning Cream Light

 

Etude House launch Face Conditioning Cream last year, only early this year I learn that the also have the lighter version for oily skin. The product act like a cream to condition/ prepare your skin so it shall be a nice canvas for your makeup later. I won't go crazy and directly buy the full version with out trying. So I grab a couple of samples to try.

I bought the sample a long time ago (Haul Post). I got this because I want to have a cream that help my foundation look good and have higher SPF than my Shisedo Ibuki Protective Moisturizer.

Was it Worth? Anastasia's Dipbrow Pomade

Before I used to fill in my eyebrow with eyeshadow. But then one day suddenly every beauty guru include it in their tutorial video, and praised the Dipbrow pomade.

Honestly this isn't a groundbreaking, innovative product for me. As prior to this I've already try Make up Forever Aqua Brow. This product is also gel based eyebrow product, come in a tube packaging with wide range of color selection. And last year nyx also launch Eyebrow gel. 

Review: Aritaum Full Cover Liquid Concealer

I do adore South Korean pop culture. I also adore the beauty industry. They had an amazing variety of product, in good quality and affordable price. Not to mention on how they marketed the product. they put a nicely organized promotional picture in their site. I only understand basic Korean word. Since the language is a barrier for them to sell the product, this promotional picture come handy to promote how the product works. In early 2014 I discovered the brand Aritaum, they did the long promotional picture about how this base product help to perfecting your complexion. I'm quite immune to the long promotional picture until I found a video that demonstrate the coverage power and still looking natural, fast forward. This year I finally notice that my favorite shop sell this line. So I got the Aritaum Full Cover Liquid Concealer.

Review: Marc Jacob Beauty Style Eye-Con no.7 Plush Shadow The Lolita 206

This would be my first designer cosmetic product. I just bought Marc Jacob Beauty Style Eye-Con no.7 Plush Shadow in The Lolita 206. Review: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette

I've got this palette as soon as it launch, and the first holiday palette that I purchase. I love the hourglass product since it is nano particle free. I haven't really touch it until early January. I would say this is the most flattering powder blush that I ever tried. It give a nice glow finish to your skin without the awkward Edward's glitter. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette

I hate powders, press powder etc, it clogged your pores and make your skin looks bumpy. Every time I use powder, I could feel like you add one layer that make you skin couldn't breath, or just like you are had been in a long-long trip in the middle of dusty old shop (you know that feeling when you had a lot of dust on your hand, your hand feel So I never into the touch up or reapply powder in my face, In high school my friend like you wash their face with water (sans facial foam) and then reapply the whole skincare routine and powder. I never a fan of that kind of ritual. If I need to apply or reapply anything I would strip down everything from my face. I admit that the powder with talc work best to stop the shine on your face. But in the other hand if you had a big-big pores, powder is not your best friend. Yes it does the job to absorb oil, but it also clogged your pore, in the end of the day, your skin look dry and rough, sometimes even lead to pimple.

Years ago I watch a video review of Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder, Dustin Hunter told that he only grab a couple pan, but when he tried it, and he fall in love with the finish, that he need to get all colors. But the palette quite pricey, back then around holiday 2013 they released the Ambient Lighting Palette, feature 2 colors that already in the line (Dim Light and Radiant Light) and 1 palette special color (Incandescent Light). Tatcha Enzyme Powder

I'm  obsess with enzyme  based cleanser. All this obsession start last summer, when visited Japan my sister bought Kanebo Suisai Beauty Clear Powder. Since then, I hooked with this type of cleanser. I never found any other thing that cleanse pore as good as Suisai Beauty Clear Powder. The only downside is it contain paraben.

How come enzyme could help to cleanse your pores?
Stuffed pores are clogged by dirt,oil and dead skin cell. Enzyme broke down the oil and dirt make your pores cleanse with out loosing much moisture. Unlike the scrub that might scratch your skin or another chemical that might dried your skin. So this perfect for sensitive and dried skin because it would work with the targeted problem.

So, I've been searching and surfing ever since. I came across with Tatcha Polish Deep Rice Enzyme Powder ($15).  It's similar to Kanebo Suisai.

Scented Nail Polish

Have you tried scented nail polish? Before should endure the unpleasant chemical smell to beautify our nails. But yesterday finally I get my self the scented nail polish. I bought Revlon Parfumerie in Apricot Nectar, a nice pastel peach color. I think this color go along really well with gold glitter for holiday manicure, and with bright magenta for fresh and fun summer nails.

Acne Patches Review

This isn't a new trend in Asia, we use some kind of transparent sticker to cover pimple. I also love to use this method to help to make the pimple disappear. The idea is, it would cover the pimples and limited the contact with the harmful environment (dust, bacteria etc. all those things that would make the pimple worse). By cutting all those contact the pimple could heal faster. You could easily found one in mini market (Indomaret) or drug stores (Nexcare). I found many korean brand (Etude House, Missha, Innisfree, Skin food etc.) also have this kind of product. I've try 4 different brand, and I'd like to share my thought about this product with you.

 

Why I love this sticker?

This sticker isn't just some ordinary sticker/ transparent tape. It's also has all those ingredient to help the acne heals faster. like the one from etude house the use many natural ingredient like tea tree, garlic, papaya and many more. it also help the benzoyl peroxide contact with hair and cloth (since benzoyl peroxide would bleach them). Plus this sticker protect the pimple from my hand (which is probably full of bacteria, dust and oil).

How I use it:

1. I wash my face until it squeaky clean.

2. Then I'll continue moisturize my face.

3. After the moisturizer, sometimes I'll use some topical acne cream like benzoyl peroxide 5% or erytromycin 2%

4. Then I'll blot some excess oil with film paper.

5. Start to stick it, covering the pimple.

6. let it sit for at least 6 hours before remove.

So here some patches that I've been trying:

1. Nexcare Acne Cover (28 000 IDR)

This one could easily found in mini market (contain less patches and cheaper than price listed above) and drug store in Indonesia. Unlike the other brand it just a plain hydro colloid dressing. It contain 12 8mm patches and 6 12 mm patches.

I like it because....

it's easy to find and works quite well in  absorb the oil. there's some kind of  statisfaction looking at the clear patches turn white after absorb the oil.

I don't like it because....

the dimension, it thick and doesn't stick very well. If I wear it during the day, it's super noticeable since it's thick. But when I wear it during the sleep (night time), it will dislocated and fall every where since it doesn't stick well.

2. Etude House AC Clinic Intense Pink powder Spot Patch (48 000 IDR)

It came from The AC Clinic line. I read many good reviews on this line and last time my sister mention how this one help her popped pimple scar heals faster. It has many natural ingredient like winter green berry, Japanese cypress, tea tree, papaya, garlic, thyme, rosemary, eucalyptus, perilla seed and many more. It contain 3 size, 6 6mm patches, 8 10 mm patches and 2 12 mm patches.

I like it because....

it's stick really well and thin. I wasn't really noticeable. More over those natural ingredient does help the pimple heals faster.

I don't like it because....

it stick a little too well, when I removed I could see some hair pulled together. Which is actually bad since it might pull your skin layer and make it more irritate. Plus after a while the patch kind of melt and the edge curled.

3. The Face Shop Spot Clear Intensive Patch (36 000 IDR)

Unlike the one from etude house it has less ingredient. But it has key ingredient to fight bacteria like salicylic acid and tea tree oil. It contain 12 patches 6 10 mm and 6 12 mm.

I like it because....

It stick okay and after hours it' doesn't change much physically. All the size just fit my pimple fine, the bigger one I'll cut the in two. And the most important it works effectively heal the pimple.

I don't like it because....

sometimes the bigger size just to big.

 4. Missha Blemish Clear patch Somaderm Spot S

It has 24 patches, 9 12 mm, 5 10 mm, and 10 7mm. It much more thicker than Etude House and The Face shop, but more thinner than nexcare. I couldn't find info about the ingredient and I couldn't read Hangul. They are pretty much like the one from nexcare, only thinner and stay in place better.

I like it because....

It not too thick like Nexcare, it stay well on targeted area and works really well absorb the liquid from popped pimple.

Tips:

• If the patch are too sticky, and you force to remove it, you'll end up irritate your skin. You could wet the patch until it gets less sticky, then removed it.
• Sometimes the patch size is ridiculously big, just take a clean scissor and cut the into small pieces.
• I would use thicker patch (Missha and Nexcare) which are less sticky on a popped pimple. It would help to absorb the liquid and protect the area from bacteria, dust ect.

Bad Experience Shopping in qoo10.co.id

The Online Shopping in Indonesia grow rapidly this past few year, it used to be sell stuff in social media and forum to a all-there mall shopping website. But unlucky, the system is too tricky and might be a big disadvantage for buyer.

Who doesn't love online shopping? 

Well some of you must hate it, because you couldn't try on the stuff, the fraud, the waiting etc.

I don't hate online shopping! Though  I would prefer bought thing from the shop or counter. But sometimes the price is lower, they got the foundation shade that more like a match to your skin tone, all the silly stuff that you couldn't get in your place. That's why the depression told me just to get stuff online. This past years the online shopping become more popular in Indonesia. It started from sell stuff in social media (fb, twitter, etc) to a shopping mall site (like japanese rakuten or korea g-market).

I never been shopping in those kind of site (g-market, rakuten, ebay, amazon etc). So I tried once, last month, and I've been experience a bad service I ever get from all online shopping adventure I've ever done.

Last 12th May, I hooked by the promotion put on the home page of qoo10.co.id. It is super cheap and said that the stocks is ready to ship from Jakarta (which would take like 3 day to arrived). It was so close to the closing time for the promotion, so I didn't do much research, I just pick the shade I wanted, place the order and paid via bank transfer.

I waited until they confirm my payment, soon they confirm my payment and by the may 14th, I received a notice telling that my package on the way...

Well I still waiting till this day and still the package haven't arrived.

I just instantly trust this shop since they put the advertisement of promotion at the homepage of qoo10.co.id.

I'm truly disappointed with qoo10.co.id and the seller (REOMING). I wouldn't take the reason that they need to ship the item from Korea. They said that the item is ready stock in Jakarta. How can they lied about the item availability. More over, they change the status of my order to being sent, and place some untraceable number for the tracking code. So each time I click the link it says that I entered a wrong number or it shown the status of item but not being sent to other place. Since the item status being sent I couldn't cancel my order.

I try to think positive that my stuff will arrived, but I don't think so. I visit their Facebook page and I found a lot of complain from buyer who haven't received their item for 1 month, 2 month, even after 4 month. I try to send message via Facebook twice but I haven't receive any respond.  

Until finally last night I try to connect them via the qoo10.co.id. This morning the replied me with the tracking code, and I could finally received my package this afternoon.
